The Hellenic Cultural Society of San Diego, California


The Hellenic Cultural Society's most distinguished award bears the name of that brilliant King of Macedonia who carried Hellenic learning, culture and ideals to the farthest corners of the known world. It is conferred only upon persons who, like the great Alexander, made outstanding contributions toward the acquisition, preservation, promotion and teaching of the great body of knowledge handed down by the Greeks over the centuries. Honorees must be exemplary citizens of high moral character who have also made positive contributions to their communities - demonstrating the true spirit of Hellenism.

Our society's service trophy is named for Aristeides (530-468 BC), a great leader of the Golden Age, who advanced to the highest of honors and dignity in Greece by means of his devoted service to his country, matchless virtue and unceasing industry. This trophy is awarded to Hellenic Cultural Society members in recognition of their loyalty and service over the years of their membership and for their efforts on behalf of their Hellenic Community.
